The Shomron
I had an interview in Immanuel, a small Haredi settlement in the Northern Shomron (Samaria) for an engineering project. I got lost and cruised all Northern Shomron for hours. Many Arab villages, they are not different from Mexican or Salvadorean villages, food sold on the street, tin roofed shacks, sheep and goats seemingly enjoying street life, strong music, dirt. Immanuel is a very religious community, apartments at 30,000 dollar, a failed industrial area, many Oriental Jews. Infrastructure was built in a hurry and is getting old, the town is decaying. I did not receive the business at hand, but at least they got to know me.
