
Having a high IQ prevents heart disease (Reuters). IQ ranked above having ‘healthy’ levels of blood pressure and physical exercise in preventing heart disease. The result is no surprise: low IQ people feeds on fried chicken and Coke while smart people eats roastbeef with the fat and drinks vodka Finlandia.

I love the lesson that is drawn in the article - low IQ leads to disease so we should increase IQ by "tackling social inequalities". All roads lead to socialism.
Maybe in Israel the low IQ types drink orange juice (which is really quite healthy). Here they drink Coca-cola -lots and lots of it. And in recent years the cane sugar in it has been replaced with something called "high fructose corn syrup" which is probably even worse for you than sugar.
Today I think smart people realize that a rosbif is OK once in a while but that every day you should eat salad and fish as your wife tells you. One of the inferences from the article was that high IQ people are smart enough to observe dietary guidelines.

Salads are no more than grasses and leaves, and we are not herbivores. I understand that in Hungary or Russia where there was very little fresh fruit most of the year, people got fixated on eating fresh things, because it was very difficult to get them. But nowadays we in Israel have plenty of fresh foods and almost no cooked plates. We should eat what our parents and grandparents ate in Europe.
The Israeli diet has always emphasized raw foods more. The archetypical Israeli breakfast from kibbutz days onward includes a salad of cucumbers and tomatoes. In the West, salad is almost never served for breakfast and tourists consider this to be a strange custom.

Indeed, I noticed this on my recent trip to Israel, the hotel seemd to serve two types of breakfast.
But this is multiple breakfast offering is also common in Asia.

You should visit the Dead Sea hotels. Their selfservice breakfasts are very rich and varied.
