The French parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee published a report accusing Israel of implementing "apartheid" policies in its allocation of water resources in the West Bank. The report said that water has become "a weapon serving the new apartheid" and gave examples and statistics that ostensibly back this claim.J's Comment: Yes, we use more water than the Palestinians. And Parisians use more water than Sudanese goat-herders. When Sudanese goats suffer thirst, Parisians dont help them. The French are shameless.
"Some 450,000 Israeli settlers on the West Bank use more water than the 2.3 million Palestinians that live there," the report said. "In times of drought, in contravention of international law, the settlers get priority for water."
The author of the report was Socialist Party MP Jean Glavany, who in the past served as agriculture minister under French President Lionel Jospin and as cabinet secretary for President Francois Mitterrand.
BTW, there are already 600,000 Jews living in the West Bank, about a third of the population. The idea is to become majority in our days amen.

Sorry must have got that mixed up, I mean near Sudan.
If Sudan is not chic enough, Parisians could send half of their water to Lybia. The same tanker ships that carry Lybian oil to France could be sent back with water instead of air and emptiness. But the French are so worried about Palestinians that have no time for other causes.

The West bank is "near" Paris culturally now. Right in its suburbs.
As Moslems come to form a greater portion of the electorate, all the European nations will become more anti-Israel for domestic political reasons. This is not the same France that helped build the Dimona reactor.

Do you honestly believe that your comparison is valid?
Do the Parisians claim Sudan as Paris? Do they settle French citizens in the Sudan? Does the French military occupy the Sudan and prevent the natives from forming a state and self-government?
You Israelis are responsible for the Arabs of the West Bank because you occupy them against their will.
And you owe them an equitable share of the water on their own land.
I know that when the Arabs had possession of Jerusalem and the West Bank from 48 to 67, they shared everything equitably with all the Jews living there, so is it asking too much for the Jews to treat the Arabs the same as the Arabs treated the Jews? Or do we have double standards?

There is no water scarcity in Israel. Palestinians can get all the water they want. We give them the basic quota free, although it costs us to pump it up, sote it, purify it and convey it. If they want more, pay. As Israelis.
It is very unfair to compare water consumption of a rural population composed 50% by children like the Palestinians, with a highly industrialized Western society like Israel.
Why Europeans do not compare relatively low Israeli consumption with their own? We too want to live like they do.
I think kool-aide works as well as it does because the emotions of self-righteousness shut down the left (i.e. thinking) brain. And ooooh is the craving to feel "righteous" (regardless of what "shortcuts" are taken) is a must-feed urge in today's West. It assuages a hollow and troubled place in the priviledged-feeling 1st worlder's psyche. For those who really crave (pseudo)moral validation, emotionally charged imagery totally creates "reality," easily circumventing the mind's centers of judgement.

You are right in that rational arguments make no impact on those people. They get such a "kick" from feeling righteous that are unwilling to think rationally.
We have here 120000 Ethiopian immigrants, who brought with themselves the bizarre custom of wife-killing. First page article today in HaAretz: The Government causes Ethiopians to kill their wives and hides the damning reports and research studies. Enormous demonstrations this week in Israel where people paint their faces in black and protest against discrimination of Ethiopians. Mostly they protest that Ethiopian children do not study in the same class as Ashkenazi children. Discrimination! I tried to explain to my daughter that it is no good to mix children of 120 IQ with children of IQ 70, that are in fact morons. Do you want violent morons in your class? She says it is racism. On the other hand, the elite class of heirs caused the expulsion of violent Oriental boys - arsim in the local lingo. She does not see any relationship. My hope is that when it comes to her personal wellbeing, she acts rationally.
Keep her clear of Amy Biehl's parents.
