Today is Lag BaOmer, the harvest festivity of the early corn. The people camp on the Meron Mountain for quasi-religious ceremonies like first hair cut for boys. The government built an access bridge to the site for "safety reasons". The rabbis declared that it was a bridge for men only, women had to walk on the ground. Israel is a veritable light of the manosphere, where men's exalted status is emphatised. On the other hand, to our shame, our President is rotting in jail because his secretary accused him of sexual advances when meeting him in a hotel room.

In Argentina, if a girl went to hotel room with a boy, or she went to his apartment, anything was presumed consensual. Common sense says so.
Not for our female judges. He was the boss, abuse was presumed. Having managed a public service office in Israel, I say that bosses power is minimal. They cant fire a secretary for not meeting them in a hotel room.
You keep coming back to this case - he has no one to blame but himself, on many levels. He was guilty of hubris if nothing else and is paying the price now. This is not Buenos Aires in 1969 - the times have changed, the rules of the game have changed and Katsav did not change with them. I don't know why you are defending him - all these politicians (Edwards, Clinton, Berlesconi, Katzav, Straus-Kahn, etc., etc. are cut from the same narcissistic cloth. They want the public to love them, they want women to "love" them - they are sick and if not in jail they at least should be in a loony bin. Instead we make them our leaders. What does it say about human nature that the sheeple want psychopaths to lead them?

I dont believe Bill Clinton is a psychopath. With such an unsexy wife, who could resist those adoring young girls? And why should he?
Because for a moment's pleasure you can ruin your whole life's work, be humiliated before your family and the entire world, become the butt of jokes by late night comedians and end up on trial and possibly in jail. Is that reason enough?
Do these men expect that the same girls that yield to their impulses and drop their knickers will then become models of discretion and forever keep their secret? Maybe back in the day, such girls were so powerless that no one would listen to them or believe them or publish their tales afterward (JFK was even more of a sex maniac. FDR and Eisenhower had mistresses if not a different girl every night.) But nowadays you can bet that your nighttime exploits will end up on the front page. Edwards even made a videotape. Politicians were always worried about blackmail and "honey traps" - to film yourself like that is the height of insanity. Those whom the gods wish to destroy they first make mad.

Aren't married men supposed to be satisfied with their wives? Edwards at least had but one steady mistress, which is OK by French standards if not American (likewise FDR, Eisenhower, etc.), but Clinton was eager to grope every passing female. If you are an unmarried rock star, this is perfectly OK but we expect more from married politicians. Even in France, Straus Kahn appears to have crossed the line and Clinton was in his league.

DSK fell in a trap and was arrested and involved in a criminal (rape) action. That is passing the red line.

Not to mention operating a prostitution ring. Clinton only lied (under oath) because he was already involved with a lawsuit for harassing another woman - apparently he had seduced or attempted to seduce almost every woman he could get his hands on (literally). A lot of these guys are not really alphas but wannabee alphas - they spent their high school years as beta nerds but their later success and power makes them desirable to some females. They don't know how to handle their sudden alpha status and wrongly assume that this applies to EVERY female instead of just some (most?).

I don't pretend to be an alpha so I have no idea what % of females will lend their favors to an alpha. I suspect that a lot of these guys operate by asking every female they meet, so that even if a low % say yes it adds up to a fair # in the long run. But really I have no idea.

I dont suscribe to K's theory. Bill Clinton was a in his youth a tall good looking fellow, played the saxophon and smoked grass. An alpha on all counts.
DSK did not operate a prostitution ring as a sideline to his day job in the International MOnetary Fund. The man was trapped by the French secret service in a mission for his political opponents.
If DSK was so suspicious that he was being trapped (encrypting his 7 cell phones, etc.) then why didn't he change his behavior to put himself above all possibility of entrapment. He should have even had a chaperone with him at all times to provide witness than nothing untoward was going on. Perhaps a respected rabbi, or this being France, an imam.
