Palestinians are prevented from using wastewater provided to Israeli settlements for irrigation and instead have to rely on more expensive water for that purpose.I have been there and I am there, and the truth is that Israeli authorities have been trying for the last twenty years to get the cooperation of the Palestinians. Their villages and cities do not treat their sewage and pollute the Shomron and Israel proper (that lies lower near the sea). We beg them to treat their pollution, and they say that is not their problem, it is the occupier's problem. The Germans erected gratis modern wastewater treatment plants for them, and they dont maintain or operate or guard them. Vandals dismount and sell the parts. When the Israeli Ministry of Environment forced all Jewish settlements to invest large sums to treat their sewage, they tried to receive Palestinian sewage to lower treatment costs and divide the treated water proportionally. The Europeans were ready to pay for Palestinians, but the Palestinians refused because it would "strengthen the enemy". (pic. Wastewater Treatment Plant of Ofra. The small settlement is bearing its cost - 12 million dollars. Not one of the surrounding Arab villages deigned to talk to us about sending in their sewage, their prefer to let it flow and pollute natural streams). Now the above activist writes the malignant lie that we are preventing the Palestinians of irrigating with treated wastewater. This people make me sick.
